Developmental Therapist

Christen graduated from East Carolina University with a B.S. in Child Life. She has a broad range of experience working with children and families in different environments, which has prepared her to think creatively and work with each child as an individual. Along with working as a Developmental Therapist, Christen is also a Certified Child Life Specialist at a local hospital. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering as a wish granter for Make-A-Wish. She has also worked as a habilitation technician, youth counselor, and preschool teacher. Her trainings and education have prepared her to support children and families who are going through life changing events. Christen is able to recognize developmental delays in children and adapt activities accordingly, promoting each child’s growth and development. She believes children learn most through play and exploration, and creates an environment that is both educational and enjoyable. Some of her professional interests include children with special needs, behavior management, and the medically fragile. Christen also works with her families sharing her knowledge of sign language.
