Shana obtained her B.S. in Child Life Studies from East Carolina University in the department of Child Development and Family Relations. While at ECU, she worked with children from the ages of six months to four years old. After college she moved to Raleigh and taught pre-school for four years before returning to school to obtain her Birth through Kindergarten certification. Afterwards she taught Kindergarten for four years in the Wake County Public School System. Through all this experience, Shana has learned the importance of children’s learning through play.

As the mother of two beautiful young girls with Sensory Integration Disorder, Shana knows firsthand the importance of early intervention services for children as well as for the family. From this experience she has gained a strong belief on the importance of family support. Her personal experience, something she could have never foreseen years ago starting at ECU, has solidified her passion of relating to families whose children have a set of different needs. Having grownup moving all around the world from Iceland to Hawaii to Japan, Shana has developed a love for other cultures and backgrounds. She looks forward to working with your family.
